The Fifth Supervisorial District of the County of Humboldt is described as follows:

BEGINNING at a point where the South line of Section 1, Township 6 North, Range 1 West intersects the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean;

thence, East along said section line to the center of the Mad River;

thence upstream and easterly along the centerline of Mad River eight miles, more or less, to the quarter section line running east and west through the center of Section 24, Township 6 North, Range 1 East, H.B. & M.;

thence east along said quarter section line to the northeast corner of the northwest quarter of the southeast quarter of said Section 24;

thence south to the southeast corner of said northwest quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 24;

thence east to the west line of Section 19, Township 6 North, Range 2 East, H.B. & M. being the city limits of the City of Blue Lake;

thence northerly along the west boundary of the City of Blue Lake, easterly along the north boundary, southerly along the east boundary, and westerly along the south boundary of said city limits of the City of Blue Lake, through Sections 19, 20, 29 and 30, Township 6 North, Range 2 East, H.B. & M. to the centerline of the Mad River in the east half of said Section 30;

thence following the centerline of Mad River upstream and southeasterly to the east line of Section 1, T. 2 N., R. 4 E., H. B. & M.;

thence north six and one-fourth miles, more or less, to the northwest corner of T.3 N., R. 5 E., H. B. & M.;

thence east six and one-fourth miles, more or less, to the Humboldt-Trinity County line;

thence following said Humboldt-Trinity County line northwesterly, easterly and northerly to the Humboldt-Siskiyou County line on the north line of Section 4, T.11 N., R.6 E., H. B. & M.;

thence west along the Humboldt-Siskiyou County line and the Humboldt-Del Norte County line fourteen and three-fourths miles, more or less, to the northwest corner of T. 11 N., R. 4 E., H. B. & M.;

thence north along said Humboldt-Del Norte County line six miles to the northeast corner of T.12 N., R. 3 E., H. B. & M.;

thence west along said county line fifteen and one-half miles, more or less, to the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean;

thence following said shoreline of the Pacific Ocean southerly to the POINT OF BEGINNING.

EXCEPTING THEREFROM any portion within the city limits of the City of Arcata.
