Pursuant to Penal Code § 1208.5, the Board of Supervisors delegates to the Sheriff the authority to enter into agreements whereby a person sentenced to, or imprisoned in, the jail of one county, but residing in another county, may be transferred by the Sheriff of the county in which he or she is confined to the jail of the county in which he or she resides in or is employed, in order that he or she may be enabled to continue I his or her regular employment or education in such other county through such county’s work furlough program. Such agreement may make provision for the support of transferred persons by the county from which they are transferred. (Ord. 1859, § 1, 4/4/1989)
